ABOUT SAM WILLIAMS
Sam is an extremely talented musician who has big dreams of one day paying his bills with his original music. A multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass, piano, and drums, he’s also a skilled singer-songwriter and arranger. Sam is deeply passionate and extremely knowledgeable about Oldies music from the 60’s and 70’s -- some have even called him a Walking Encyclopedia of 60’s Pop music.
Sam's original music cites influences from the likes of The Rascals, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Petula Clark, the Hollies, the Fifth Dimension, Johnny Rivers, and so many other bands from the 60's Pop era. While Sam's music possesses the quintessential 60's Pop feels, he still manages to come up with fresh and original lyric ideas for his songs. From stories of fortune teller readings gone awry to struggles with finding romantic relationships, Sam's lyrics are real, contemporary and relatable.
Sam also is the host of a far reaching podcast which teaches listeners, particularly millenials about 60's pop music. From discussions about modern songs sampled from that historic decade to interviews with legendary musicians from the 60's era such as Shel Talmy (producer of the Kinks and the Who and Chad and Jeremy) hit songwriter Eddie Holland (writer for huge hit songs for groups such as The Supremes and the Four Tops for Motown Records), and Dennis Tufano (lead singer of the band the Buckinghams), Sam's podcast is a one-stop shop for listeners of all ages to learn from and about the iconic 60's music scene.
